Habitat for Humanity
We participate in several Habitat for Humanity workdays, as well as volunteering at the Habitat for Humanity store. We gather food for the Salvation Army food pantry once a month, and Kim Strauch organizes the Vail holiday bellringing. Paige Putnam coordinates our quarterly partnership with the Eagle River Valley Presbyterian church to provide a community wide dinner on Wednesday nights.
Simple Supper is an interfaith community outreach to provide those in need a hot meal once a week. This weekly event is hosted at the United Methodist Church of Eagle Valley. The idea behind the Simple Supper is to provide fellowship and a hot meal for anyone in the community who may be in need of a boost, especially in these challenging economic times. Local businesses also contribute items for the meal, and the Salvation Army food pantry is available in conjunction with the dinner. This is a great chance for Transfiguration to be involved with our down-valley neighbors. ECOT provides volunteers to prepare and serve dinner for the Eagle Simple Supper on the second Monday of each month.
The provide three hot dishes (stew, chili or a casserole all work well) and two large salads to feed 40 to 50 people. If you have thought about getting involved in this community ministry (or have participated in the past), please consider joining us.
The dinner is from 5:45 to 7:30 at the Eagle Valley United Methodist Church (corner of 2nd and Howard streets in Eagle). Please contact Jen Hill at email@example.com or 328-2320 with any questions or to RSVP if you are able to make it.
Simple Supper: Monday nights from 6:00-7:00 at the United Methodist Church of Eagle Valley, 138 Howard St. ECOT volunteers prepare and serve dinner on the 2nd Monday of each month.
