Dearest Transfiguration Members and our many friends,

I have additional updates which impact our lives and provide more clarity for our church.  Today our neighboring counties of Pitkin and Garfield joined Eagle County’s Health and Environment Director in the Public Order he issued yesterday.  This order now states it will be re-visited on April 8th, which is longer than Bishop Kym Lucas’ guidance issued yesterday.  Thus ECOT will not physically gather for Sunday worship on this Sunday, March 15th, March 22nd, March 29th and Palm Sunday, April 5th.  We continue to work towards livestreaming a worship event or teaching for you beginning next weekend, but for now, Bishop Lucas is conducting an on-line service of worship this Sunday, March 22nd at Saint John’s Cathedral, Denver, for the entire state.  We will share the link when we receive it.  And I intend to video my sermon message for Sunday and upload it to our YouTube Channel sometime on Sunday or Monday morning, as we intend to do on every Sunday during this season of physical distance.

We have also discovered that a worshipper who joined us for the 12:00 PM Ash Wednesday service at the Vail Chapel on February 26 recently tested positive for COVID-19.  This worshipper is currently in isolation for recovery and doing well.  The Eagle County Health Department assures us they are not concerned about transmission during our worship that day.  I also am reporting that Mother Emily is at home with a chest cold.  I have asked her to remain there to rest and recover.  She reports that she greatly desires prayers for healing but no visitations, meals or calls at this time.  I will update you as she recuperates.  As noted everywhere, anyone with any symptoms of cold, flu or COVID-19 are encouraged to immediately contact your primary care physician by phone to determine the best course of treatment based upon your symptoms, and I hope you will do that proactively as Emily did.

Our congregation is being invited to help staff the Salvation Army Mobile Canteen as it delivers meals to homebound citizens locally.  Please contact Mike Williams at 970.390.3094 or if you would like to help.  You remain in my prayers, as I hope we remain in yours.

Warmly in the Lord,
