All Souls Day

All Souls day started in 998 AD.  It is a day of remembrance for friends and loved ones who have passed away. November 4th is the day on which special prayers are offered for the souls of the faithful. This observance is an extension of All Saints’ Day. While All Saints’ is to remember all the saints, popular piety felt the need to distinguish between outstanding saints and those who are unknown in the wider fellowship of the church, especially family members and friends. Please fill out the form below if you would like to include any friends or loved ones that have passed and who we have not previously prayed for during past All Soul’s events, in this prayer. On Monday, November 4th, we will have a special service at the Edwards Interfaith Chapel, where we will recite the All Souls prayer.
