Spy Wednesday & Stations of the Cross

HOLY WEDNESDAY

Spy Wednesday, the day by long tradition which remembers Judas Iscariot receiving the 30 pieces of silver to betray Jesus’ evening location to the Jerusalem authorities so they can apprehend this troublesome Galilean itinerant holy man. We mark Holy Week’s mid-week today with a dramatic Stations of the Cross spiritual walk in Vail at 12:00 PM and in Edwards at 5 PM. Father Mike, Deacon Mike, Mary Cotton and I await you to walk these moments of reflection together. We physically carry a cross, move from station to station, pray and reflect together as we rehearse Jesus’ last steps uphill almost a mile from Pilate’s Roman garrison headquarters to Calvary. Some cannot handle the intimate intensity of this gathering, but some others of us cannot experience Holy Week without it.
