I cannot believe that we are lighting the 4th and final candle on the Advent Wreath! Christmas is almost upon us! I very much appreciate Pastors Carl Walker and Mark Huggenvik taking worship for us this past Sunday, as I exercised the “Saint Olaf audible!” Thank you Carl and Mark!
And this Sunday, please make every effort to get to worship as we welcome the Reverend Emily Lukanich to the altar for her very first Sunday serving Transfiguration as our Assistant Rector, and also welcome back Deacon Steve as well. I will be preaching and also teaching our adult Metamorphosis bible study class, with lunch, just after Edwards worship. Come join the Advent party! Also, children are welcome to come to the Christmas pageant rehearsal in Edwards, even if they are new to our pageant! There is a place for all!
Finally, please don’t forget this afternoon’s G5 Advent Summit celebration, beginning with a festive supper in the Edwards Chapel at 5:30 PM and culminating in a wonderful holiday concert with a gospel quartet at 7:00 PM. Dessert and coffee available also for everyone who comes! Please also don’t forget our Adopt-A-Family gifts, which can be dropped off tonight under the Atrium Christmas tree, our bell-ringing, and our 2017 Pledge Drive too. I have just signed and sent our second letter to those we have not yet heard from, so I hope you take a moment to read and reflect on my letter when it arrives.
May God bless us all in the Advent season. I love being with you all in this very special holiday time. See you tonight and on Sunday!
